Petplan

Considering switching to petplan as i want higher vet fees cover, but prefer to go direct rather than policies where underwriters likely to change.

As they tend to be more expensive to start with wondering how much premiums tend to rise annually and especially as dogs get into their senior years?
I don't want to find myself struggling to afford premiums in few years once i'm stuck with them. One dog is nearly 7 so switching will probably be more difficult soon.

I'm with Pet Plan for all of mine.

Willow is now nearly 13 and has been insured with them for 12 years.

In that time her insurance has only gone up £5 a month and we have had some hefty claims for her.

The only major change has been that from about 11 (I think) we have had to pay an increased excess and 20% of the claim.

Thanks chellie

Better than i thought, i expect premiums to rise a bit annually on any policy. The increased excess isn't ideal but preferable if it means its stays affordable as heard some companies hike them up for oldies.
