I used avon skin so soft (green bottle) on my self and rubbed some onto the dogs last year seemed to work. Although I did worry it might not be good for them they seemed to survive.

I too have been looking for something to put on the dogs but was told to make sure that if ingested it is safe as my dogs for sure would lick it.
Good luck.

I used to make a spray for my horse, with lavender, tea tree oil, citronella and vinegar and I still do one and spray it on the girls. They seem to be still living!!!

I have to shut Bella out and go in the bathroom to spray myself when mozzies are at their worst here. As the stuff takes the colour out of leather shoes, melts nail varnish etc. I definitely DO NOT want her ingesting any of it!

Midge bites are usually only irritating for about 24 hrs. I would definitely not use any proprietary human repellant on dogs. But it's fact that mozzies can transfer horrible stuff to dogs.

I've heard that Advantix repels mozzies on dogs.
