My dog has NEVER physically injured another dog, he just has a good snap. Am I allowed to walk in such places?

Granted, it probably was a bit stupid for them to walk at such a busy time, but I still think it is unfair to say their dog isn't under control. Surely if the other dog isn't trained, it's their fault, not that of the aggressive dog owner?

Well bully for you, my dogs can also be trusted in all situations but that doesn't mean I adopt the right to police the local park and tell anyone with less than perfect dogs to return at a less busy time. How do dogs learn to behave around the good, the bad, and the ugly in life unless they get to encounter them. So as the person you quoted was behaving in a responsible manner by having her dog on lead, there is absolutely no reason why she should be deprived of walking where she chooses. Dunno about common sense what about tolerance?

Then I guess we will have to agree to disagree. My opinion is that walking such a dog in the place I described at the time I said was irresponsible and I stand by that.

Well quoted in full it actually makes more sense, however I will disagree with you as I fail to see how it benefits dogs or owners if all the well behaved dogs are kept seperate from dogs with issues. I have total faith in my dogs and I really don't have a problem with anyone walking there dog where ever they choose as long as the dog is under control.
No wonder non dog owners have such issues with dogs, even those with dogs show little tolerance of each others problems.

I agree with you Trouble, i think it is important for dogs to meet and be unphased by a whole range of dogs. This can only be done if they meet dogs now and again who grumble at them, or appear a bit scary.

I'm suggesting letting tiny pups be exposed to dangerous dogs, but as dogs grow they need to experience all sorts of situations and learning to leave a dog on lead alone, or learning to be unphased by the odd growl etc and wonder off to continue your walk are all part of socialisation in my opion.

Also, if all agressive dogs or dogs with issues were made to walk in dogless areas or together then there will be less likely that they will get over their issues.
