Well that's what happens when a person is incapable of debate or reasoned discussion.

Despite my concerns I really feel for these targeted breeds, none of this is the dogs fault. My worry is that once the humans have caused the problems can we ever reverse it?

Only by responsible owners and breeders continuing to do what they've always done, breed for temperament and quality. Owners need to train their dogs to be sociable and well behaved in all circumstances. We then need to stand up for our dogs and demonstrate to the public at large our dogs are not to be feared.

Another problem that I have been aware of is that owners actually find it difficult to socialise and train as other people are nervous of them, they cross the street and they don't allow their dogs to mix, its a visicous (sorry) circle.

This happened to me recently, my dogs were playing with a large staffie cross and the owner was so delighted because normally people avoid them!

Well I find people cross the street for all kinds of reasons, I used to walk all 3 Dobermanns on a coupler and they walked by my hip and we took all the pavement, so did people cross because they were scared or because they didn't want to walk in the road? I chose to believe the latter.
I can understand people being wary if the dog is straining at the end of his lead but walking nicely shouldn't frighten anyone. So train them to walk to heel.

So if you do not care why do you keep posting controversial threads ?

Crate training is essential, not only is it helpful for training and raising puppies safely but it is important for your dog to be comfortable in a crate so that this is not a problem in the future when they need to be crated at the Vet etc. Like all training products it is how it is used/ abused that is the issue.

My Pups all LOVED their crates, they would often go there to relax when tired or for comfort when feeling poorly.
