Not trying to pick a fight at all. The thread is about emergency commands and I asked out of interest.

I think most of us use far more commands than we think, most of our dogs will understand loads of diff words/commands,,,

I use 'down' when there's a real emergency and we practise a distant down once or twice every walk. If its just because they're getting a bit far ahead or I'm not sure who's coming I use 'wait'.
