Extending lead - "tape" type - help

Last year I bough two "Doggit Avenue" tape type extending leads for Roxy and Lennon. One of them got wet, and we forgot to pull it out and drape it over something so it could dry. Since then, it never retracts properly, or with any speed or conviction. Is it totally b*ggered or can anyone suggest something I can do instead of binning it. It's pretty hopeless as it is - the dog just falls over the stupid thing because it doesn't retract properly....gggrrrr

BTW, the other one which has also been wet the same as the one above, is absolutely fine.........

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Cheers

hi vicki - i had a similar problem with the flexi tape lead which managed to get sand in the mechanism - it was at least 7 months old and i sent it back to the supplier and got a refund for it !!!

was quite surprised as totally my fault ( well brunos) that it got full of sand but they refunded due to it being within a year ??

Could be that the spring's gone rusty. If so then I'd say it's had it

Hi Vicki don't want to pour oil on troubled waters but my advice would be to bin it . I had a friend of a friend who lost an eye because of one of these extending leads and the mechanism becoming faulty.
