NO DON'T DO THAT, you're supposed to connect the TREADMILL to the generator NOT yourself!

(Don't want to be accused of encouraging anything which may be in breach of H & S)

......I was impressed with just how much control she had over her dog - she didn't raise her voice and he did seem very bonded to her.

As I've said in previous posts I'm happy to try anything that makes my dog a happy dog.
You seem to be a pretty balanced person - so good luck turning your dog into your dream dog.

I reckon most people would just like a dog that

does not pull on the lead
comes when called
does not jump up and harass people
and settles in public

John Rogerson is big on teaching lifeskills (as is Helen Zulch, Sue Sternberg etc) which are far more useful to the owner (and the general public) than a straight sit etc.

Malka where are you when I need you?

This is where you insert picture of my favourite well trained dog.

The one with 4 wheels and a large handle.

Yes absolutely - all those things you mention, we're still very much a work in progress.

Interestingly when I force my dog into a down/sit he "white knuckles" it, fixated on my face and for the moment when I give him a release command. There's nothing natural about it.

And as I've been told on here, dogs don't generalise easily, so he may go into a down at class but there's not A chance in hell he'd do it in a cold wet field with squirrels on the horizon!

Maybe making me the centre of his universe might work i.e his alpha. I can but try

If only me AND the dog were reading from the same instruction manual - he has a very different idea of "dream dog" to me!!!

Thanks for your kind words.

I aspire to him settling in public - sadly we've a long way to go yet.
