Pidge, re- the travel crate are you talking about a cloth /soft one .. this may not be strong enough to leave Woody in while you are out, a determined dog will get out of one.

Get your cage out, get him used to it again , you will need it , if you want to go out and leave him.

Something else you need to know.. as soon as you get there find the address of the emergency vet... always best to know where they are ..many places that allow dog will have the number in the information file ..

Another thing to note... if you haven`t already... get a disc with both your mobile numbers on for Woody, again in case of him getting lost, no point in your home number , if you are not there.

It's this one - http://www.wild4pets.co.uk/product_i...roducts_id=524 - he sleeps in it overnight every night at home. It's essentially his bed. But don't forget, we don't really want to have to use it at all other than over night as usual.

Will make note of vets. Thanks!

We have a tag for him with family name, home number and mobile as well as vet's number and chipped/neutered, cheers ;o)

Youre not! It used to be great during the week and in the winter, but now its like Clappham junction all the time! Its really taken off in recent years, but you will love it, the scenery is fantastic and the people are wonderful.

Oh, we go to Tarn Hows a lot (an hours drive for us)!

It is lovely, but can get really busy at weekends/bank hols. We find that it's difficult to let the dogs off when it's like this as there are loads of dogs, kids, unattentive parents etc all over!

The best walk we had there was a rainy Sunday afternoon. We got togged up in our waterproofs and had a great walk as there wasn't a soul around!

Do yo leave Woody in that crate when yo go out, do you lock him in there,,,,,,,,,,,,if not you need to try it.

Those crates are not meant to be used to leave a dog alone in ......believe me , I have seem many destroyed at shows by dogs determined to get out, they can do so in a matter of seconds.. they are not strong enough to stand up to a dog determined to escape.
