Perhaps try and find a hairdresser who specialises in afro hair?
I know yours isn't, but they would have more of an idea about cutting curly hair!

I know what you mean because I have had it done myself. I used to have it quite long and had the same lass do it each time and it was fine as the layers were quite low down (shoulders) but then I decided to go a bit shorter so the layers were higher but she did them very choppy, I had a side parting and a sort sweeping fringe which she cut way too short, it was very nice when straight but OH MY WORD when curly it was AWFUL! I always have layers put in, I love them when it's straightened but if I leave it curly (it's naturally curly) and the layers aren't right it just looks shaggy and not good at all. I got a really nice lady from the same salon sort it out for me because she put highlights in for me and asked who had cut it like that. Anyway she really knew what she was talking about so I made an appt to go back and see her and she did a brill job, took a couple month to grow it back to normal but she always cut it right so I always have her now.

She should have kept it wet with the spritzer while cutting so that's no excuse really.

Yes, that's all so familiar!!! I think the annoying thing is we had the couple of months to put it right and now she seems to have just forgotten how to cut it!!

Will call her tmrw to discuss I think.

I just wish I knew HOW to cut it so I could tell her.
Ok, on the second pic of you, you can see all the short bits sticking out around your ears and they are making it look bushier and feel bigger around that area. On the first pic, although your hair is longer overall, have a look in the same area, there are no (or few) cuts that high, they are all below the ears and varied, more around the collar e.t.c. She's just cut too much too high (probably because your hair is shorter) when they need to be subtle and varied, some high some lower, does that make sense? You just need to grow it out and then try again but you should go back to get it evened out at least.
