Appointment today - shoulder surgeon

I have not been in long, just logged in to update post.

Well considering all the tests and scans I have had, he pointed out that I had not had an x-ray but was going to check that out later today.

He is sure (before x ray results) that it has now developed into a frozen shoulder and is not arthritis.

I was given 5 options, leave it and it will eventually correct itself in approx 2 years. But I will never regain full movement.

Under anesthetic he will manipulate arm and encourage movement, followed by physio to re-build muscle waste.

Surgery via keyhole to encourage 100% movement.

Full shoulder joint replacement.

Last one I cant remember

I now have to wait for paperwork to go and have the x ray, once the results are back and it has been confirmed that it is a frozen shoulder then the decision will be made.

Glad to hear it is not arthritis, hope what ever you choose to do is successful Tracy. I have heard that frozen shoulder is very very painful, cant imagine the pain you must be suffering.

Awww...sweetie. What a nightmare but at least after the X-ray you can decide what course of treatment is best for you. Hope you get sorted soon. xx

sounds very painful but good to know it's unlikely to be arthritis.. my dad had a similar prob and they tried all sorts but eventually it just sorted itself out.. hope it's back to normal soon.. x

Thanks for the posts x To be honest the pain has subsided the more the shoulder has become frozen, plus with the help of co-codomel. Just frustrating with the limited movement.

Had a a very informative pm from Jackbox - thank you x

Will keep you informed but I am 85% sure of the preferred treatment
