International Puppy farm awareness day - 19th September

Its Puppy Farm awareness day on Sunday and on of our members wrote this thought i would share it with you

How Much is That Doggy in the Window?

“Free to a good home” the advert read, “an unspeyed little girl”
She’s soon snapped up and off she goes, off to another world.
The breeder puts her in a pen, No toys or bed for her
She’s mated time and time again, No tender words or care.
The pups sold on without concern, No health checks have been done
The only care is what he’ll earn, How many pups will come?
The bitch grows old, her body tires, No longer worth her keep
If lucky she'll find rescue space, If not she’s put to sleep
Or worse she’s killed by heartless hands, Or left to roam the streets
Her only hope is being found, Before she goes to sleep
Her pups meanwhile with plaintive voice, Too sick to struggle through
Fill up the vets and leave no choice, But to end their days too soon

So when I ask, now that you know, And you can plainly see
“How much is that doggy in the window?” - He’s far too dear for me
Don’t buy that pup because he’s sad, You're feeding that man’s greed
His mother’s life is worse than bad, And think before you breed!

That poem gave me goosebumps. So sad but depressingly true.
