Addison's Disease (anyone have experience of this condition in dogs?)

Hi has anyone ever had a dog with this or had any experience of it?
My big fella's had blood taken to be tested for it and I'm just waiting for the results, was just wondering if any of you very knowledgeable dogwebbers could shed some light on the condition for me

Thanking you all in advance

Dippy

Thanks for that Leo,

I've got a few things going on with Banjo at the minute but he has a combination of the symptoms for addisons and has been tested/X rayed for an enlarged heart and everything commonly associated with the symptoms he's displaying so I'm just trying to do my homework on the condition as this is the latest test we've had done

can't leo's get cardiomyopathy? (sp)
which could also point out to these syptoms i know about that condition as my old girl a boxer had it.can help you with that if it turns out the case.
i hope its nothing serious, whats the signs he is showing?

have you posted on the leo site about it? others might be able to help out if their leo's have got it or had it.
its not listed as a health issue on there common to the leo's.

His hearts been checked out leo and its all fine and dandy, he's had xrays and the vet has found some muscle weakness/wastage, he is very depressed and intermittent with his food, has bouts of diarrhoea on and off, excessive drinking and urinating and I know I always laugh about him taking being a leonberger to the extreme cos he's so laid back but he's really lethargic, doesn't want to walk far when we go out

has he been checked out for the routine things like infection?
just wondering if he has some kind of bug that will affect his food intake.
the fluids is a sign for kidneys and the being a extra layed back leo, has he had kidney function tests done and all come back ok?
if hes not exercising i suppose he will get muscle wastage, doesn't he want to play etc with seth?
its not his age or weight etc theres got to be some thing going off.
i hope hes better soon let us know what the results are.....
isn't there any thing that can tempt him into eating.
the only thing i know off in leo's is the EPI condition which i know 1 girl who has it, she lost loads of weight etc maybe it could be that.
maybe you know her its dee with maddie lives in coventry.
a friend of helene with bear. can't think of her kc name it wil come to me.

All his organ fuctions have been tested and all results have come back ok, he's not had an infection or anything, he's what I would call a 'fussy eater'

He has slight arthritis in his hips which explains the slowing up but he's really not happy going for even a 10 minute walk but he will still have a rough and tumble with Seth ..... I just can't figure him out, he's had a thing going on with his back legs, they keep giving way on him, he rectify's himself but its been going on for a few months now and I'd convinced myself that he'd got CDRM, but the the vet's not so sure that it is and this has prompted the vet(along with a couple of other things) to get a full MOT and see what's really going on with my boy
