Hope all goes well when you go back. Do you have to travel far to the specialist?

Update on Wicca
Went back to specialist yesterday he was reasonably satisfied with how it looked & felt, she is allowed 5 mins walking time with no limit to the number of times a day she has this - seems a bit random to me i would rather be given a strict 4 times or 8 times a day. He wasn't too happy with the suture that has an end sticking out but wants to leave it as it is most probably a tendon suture. Wicca was happy to see him so that made me feel better as she is very picky over her human friends ! Apart from the obvious worries the other thing to be watching for is the fixators drilled into her bones may loosen & or there may be discharge from base of the pins, he didn't feel it was necessary to see her again until the fixator removal which is another long 5 weeks away, then we have the fibreglass support to contend with.
Thanks for all your healing messages we certainly need them.
Luckily Sue the specialist is only 45min-1hours drive away.
X K

So pleased the specialist is happy with progress, though I realise that you still have a long way to go.

Fingers crossed that things will continue well

Hi,
Wicca sort of ok she is now pretty frustrated with the lack of exercise & mental stimulation she is used to so she is better in herself.
Pics of leg show that the sore has improved & some of the swelling has reduced. hope she grows a bit of hair back soon.

Glad to hear her leg's improving. Her getting lively is a mixed blessing - it is great news as clearly she is feeling better in herself, but it's such a job to keep them entertained when their movement is so restricted.

Fingers crossed her improvements continue

Hi
it has all started to go wrong for Wicca, Sunday morning she was fine then Sunday lunchtime she walked from the kitchen to the living room & started holding her leg right up she didn't cry out or slip. She has been back to the vet this am who after speaking with the specialist has x-rayed her leg just to make sure a fracture hasn't occurred where the pins screw into her bones
the vet can't see any problem but has sent the x-rays off, she has been given a painkiller injection & put on strong a/biotics in case there is infection brewing in the bones although she is depressed she didn't have a temperature.
She does seem a bit more comfortable tonight & has been putting some weight on her leg again. We have 18 more days of pins & there is no way the specialist wants to take them out early it is such a worry i so want this to be alright.
Hope to have some good news next time i post
X K

Ohh, what a roller coaster you're on. Hoki had a couple of set backs during her cruciate recovery so I know how depressing it is.

Hopefully Wicca just knocked it & there's nothing seriously wrong. once again, fingers crossed for you

Hi
Wicca goes back tomorrow for an anaesthetic & to hopefully have the fixator removed, she has had a very bad two weeks , mostly not using the leg & being very miserable presume due to the pain, the bottom pin has set up quite a bone reaction so just hope it doesn't have to stay on, but then we could have more problems with a partially healed tendon & a leg that is not fixed, oh its just horrible not knowing,
will update soon & maybe hope things are a little more
positive
X K

Oh, Kathryn, this must be so hard for you - its difficult enough even when you can see improvement, but the last couple of weeks must have been heart wrenching.

I really hope that you get positive news today.
