Lots of blood in urine - Roxy

Poor old girl.....

Just got back from our walk this evening and noticed when she peed on the pavement it seemed rather dark. Came back for a tissue, and mopped it up. It's full of blood and very red. Blood becomes more prominent as her bladder empties.

The last couple of days she has had an upset tum, and again today there was lots of mess when Baz got home from work, yet she was fine at lunchtime when I saw her.

I'm ringing the vet and 9 and will be taking a sample up there in the morning (got to get one yet - always fun!)

I'm hoping that Dean is on.........

Apart from the obvious nasties, what could cause that amount of blood in the urine?

Poor girl.
A good going infection can give blood in urine.

If you can try and get a sample to take with you to the vet.
Good luck hun and (((hugs))) for your girl xx

Thanks Lorna. Getting a sample is always good for a laugh. I have to follow her around with a soup bowl....... Fortunately, she's a bit deaf....

Cystitis- My dog had it once and also my cat I was amazed at how much blood was in the urine and paniced but all that was needed was a course of AB's

Hope that its nothing more than an infection lots of hugs for Roxy.

Thanks Hayley. She's had cystitis and crystals, but nothing ever produced blood. I guess it's just given me a fright.

Thanks Rose. Maybe it'll just need some AB's.

I had blood in my urine with a particularly nasty urine infection and I suspect it is the same with dogs. AB cleared it up.
