My little girl is on my lap and she`s started grooming herself again :smt026
Might not sound like much but poorly mogs often stop grooming and this is the first tme she has felt co-ordinated enough to try !
[ Dont worry, I have been helping her with cleanliness - like most she is very fastitious about grooming and grubby mogs can get very depressed indeed - seriously so - which is the last thing an already poorly moglet needs ]
She is getting harder to medicate as well by putting up more of an argument about it, which is excellent as far as I`m concerned - she must be feeling a bit better if she is able to make it more difficult for me to get her drugs down her [ I have the scratches to prove it :smt005 ].

I desperately dont just want this to be a drug only improvement, masking something really bad
We are at the vets tomorrow and she will be seeing my preferred vet this time [ he was off when I rushed her in ], so I may have more idea of what I`m dealing with - please guys, cross fingers for her that its not a real nasty

UPDATE

Well, we are back from the vets and Cleo is settled in a brand new swish carrier which will be much nicer for her during the times she has to be in there [ for food and drink so I can moniter her intake and for her safety when she is unattended which is minimal anyway ].
We saw my regular vet who is very pleased at her progress.
We still can`t rule out something like a tumour and have to remain aware that if thats whats wrong the meds will have been affecting it so when the courses are finished in a few days it will be the most telling time *but* he did say he is quietly confident given the stage she is at now and how well she is in herself, that he believes Vestibular is the most likely and would definately be the prefered cause in terms of recovery.
Sooooo, there is still the worrying cloud of worst case possibility which can`t be ruled out yet but at this point she is doing better than expected in such a short time. Her confidence rather outweighs her abilities for general balance at the moment so though I can let her walk around now I have to stay close the whole time because she wants to jump up on to her prefered high up area and I can`t let her risk that in case she falls - she tried to jump up there a few minutes ago - good job I was always good at netball

Marcus [ my vet ], was most impressed with my collection of scratches from her being able to argue about taking her meds now, especially the well aimed cuts on my nose and cheek which we consider to be the result of a great improvement in her co-ordination :smt044

Other than when taking meds she is her usual very loving and affectionate self, eating and drinking ok, and is more determined to try to get better than any poorly cat I have ever known :smt049

You guys have been helping me stay strong for her, just being able to express things to people who care means more than I can say, thank you so much for being here :smt058 :smt058 :smt058

I`ll keep updating on how she is doing - she`s a long way from being out of the woods yet so please, please do keep any spare positive thoughts flowing for my sweet little girl :smt001

Charly and I have everything crossed that she continues to improve.

For anyone not sure what Vestibular is this link explains it pretty well.
