advice please-fence chewing

hi wondered if anyone could give me some advice

we have just fitted all new fencing to our garden and for some reason harley our rottie and katie the border collie keep chewing at the wood
they never did this with our old fence

doe,s anyone know of anything we could put on the fence to discourage this?

Its probably the stuff the woods been treated with thats attracting them.

Hopefully once its rained a bit the residue will wash away.

As you well know Jackie dogs are attracted to smelly things, the smellier the better so I think Roxy is proberbally right.

yes they are,we just found it so strange and i wished they had chewed the old ones and not the new ones

hubby is gonna put chicken wire along there temp till the smell goe,s away otherwise i think i,ll be needing new fencing again soon

It's always the way isn't it...couldn't have possibly chewed up the old one they have to wait till you get it all nice and new...lol...I agree with everyone else, seeing that they didn't do it before hand it must be the smell of this new one.

Jackie - Murphy will chew anything wood, fencing, patio furniture, window boxes, he even rips of the bark of my pine trees at the bottom of my garden and I recently had to rplace all the wood knobs on my welsh dresser drawers and cupboards.
