Heating the kennel

My boys have been staying outside for the mornings while I'm at work during the summer/autumn, and I think they like it!
But I feel awful though about leaving them out as it gets a bit chillier now.

I've seen a 135w tubular heater that i could wire up from the shed and attach at the top of their kennel (they have one big one which they share). What do you think?

What do all you folks who have dogs outside do during the winter please?

We have the tubular heaters in our kennels too, just make sure there is nothing like wiring in reach that the dogs could chew through

I was going to attach it near the top of the kennel (it's a slanted roof one). OH thinks that would be stupid though!

What do you think? Where are yours positioned?
