Sorry I have a normal dyson. Magenta and purple no less! The filter I have to wash isretrievable when you take the whole dust canister out. There is a separate lid to open. Dont know if that helps?

I've got a 'Hoover Hurricane' which is like a Dyson with Hepa (coz of hayfever),but a bit cheaper and dont look like its made from Lego..

My filters need washing every few weeks to get rid of the dirt, but this is likely due to always having my windows open and a dog which brings everything in.

I have a Dyson, DC07 Animal I think. Never had any problems with the filters but I go through hoses like nobodies business, they keep splitting. Also the tools never last very long. They are very good hoovers though and mine gets used every day with 3 dogs and 6 cats

My dyson is a cylinder one cant remember the number. I just take the sponge filter out and wash it in warm water then replace it when its dry
