Calling all Gardeners - Ruby Anniversary Present ideas Please

As the title says!! Calling ALL GARDENERS - what would be a good plant/tree to get my mum and dad for their Ruby Wedding Anniversary (which is tomorrow!)

Don't want to spend a lot as they are going away for a few days and we are picking up the bar tab at the hotel (they don't know that yet!!) but want to give them something they can keep as well. Dad is a keen gardener and mum likes the garden.

They have a patio area, a grass area with borders, a small pond, a wooden fence thats about 6ft high, a shed and a trellis area if that any help!

I always think roses make good celebration plants, esp as they bloom every year.
It's a bit short notice but you can get roses with names to suit mose occasions. I googled and found this one straight away.... http://www.countrygardenroses.co.uk/...py-Anniversary

There is even one called Ruby anniversary.... http://www.apuldramroses.co.uk/RUBY+...bonny-rose.htm
That one is good for containers too.

I suppose you could always order it, buy a nice card with a rose on and let them know it's on it's way.

But if you go to a good garden centre, or even a rose specialist you'll find one that will be related to the occasion I'm sure.

I have a rose in rememberance of my Mum in the front garden.
