I know it's been done before.. but laws on pit bulls...

What's the law regarding pit bull crosses? Do they still have to be licensed, muzzled in public etc?

Someone my sister works with has just got a pit x staffie and is convinced that pit bull crosses are allowed but I'm not so sure...

Thanks moli, I thought this was the case.

What happens if she hasn't registered him already? He's 9 weeks old can she register him now?

Pibulls/crosses must also be neutered by law so whoever has bred these pups is breaking the law.

I'm confused too as most of the internet sites offering dogs for sale have ads for pitbulls and pit x pups.Very blatant if theyre against the law?

It is against the law and no, the pups shouldn't have been bred as it is illegal to breed them. All pit bulls should be neutered and muzzled when out. By now there shouldn't really be any pit bulls in this country...ye right!!! Who polices that one then???
Pit bulls are becoming quite popular again in certain areas...particularly the X's

Yep its confusing- problem is the Pitbull is not a recognised breed in the UK- read the Dogstrust statement which is probably the least confusing- it quotes sections from the Dangerous dogs Acts- which says Pits/crosses must be neutered. IF that is the case- surely its not legal to breed them ??

it isn't legal to breed them but the people that are interested in them and do breed them really don't give a stuff about that...they are all over the place...
