Snoopy ~ Super Happy Boy – 2yo Black Greyhound

SNOOPY

Snoopy is a 2 year old greyhound boy who was not fast enough for the track. He has a lovely black tuxedo coat that will be gorgeous and glossy once he puts on some condition.

Snoopy is a happy bouncy boy who absolutely loves life and everything that comes with it! He is bursting to see the world outside of kennels and is a really lovely, friendly dog. He greatly enjoys his walks and though curious, is well behaved on the lead.

Snoopy is good with our other greyhounds and enjoys his offlead play time. He has not been tested yet with smaller dogs or cats, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if required. Often ex-racing greyhounds need a bit of socialisation with smaller dog breeds as they would never have seen them before, and at the start may not realise they are dogs!

Snoopy has not yet been out of kennels, so new owners will need to be a bit patient at the start and give him time to learn the house rules. He will likely be very inquisitive about everything new and it will be very rewarding to teach him about the big wide world. Snoopy would do very well in a fairly active home who could take him on long walks and perhaps with children who could teach him to play fetch. This boy has lots of potential and is sure to give back tenfold what he receives.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

Snoopy is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Snoopy, please email me for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!

**UPDATE: FEBRUARY 2011**

Super Snoopy is still looking for his forever home, and we would like to get him out of kennels as he will be a much happier boy in a home environment. Snoopy is an average sized male at 28” to the shoulder, and his coat has greatly improved since coming to us.

This boy has a lovely personality and a playful character. He can sometimes get carried away when offlead with other dogs, but we feel this will settle down once he is in a home and getting a regular outlet for his pent up energy. The same is true of his lead walking skills as he currently gets excited about being out of kennels and will pull, but this will quickly settle down once out of kennels. He has been well behaved when meeting small dogs and is in general a really lovely boy. He is not cat friendly..

Dear Snoopy has spent long enough now in a kennel environment, and really needs the loving, non-stressful environment of a home to settle down and continue to improve.

Snoopy is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. **UPDATE: APRIL 2011**

Dear Snoopy is now in kennels in the UK, where he has settled very well in to the new routine. We hope to get this boy into a foster home asap so that he can start to really live life to the full.

Recently Snoopy took part in a greyhound awareness walk and behaved splendidly. He loved being with so many other greyhounds and soaked up all the affection and fuss he could get from people of all ages. He is sure to make a super pet.

Snoopy is currently in foster care in Norfolk, UK. He can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet and collect him. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Snoopy, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
