Lumps on Chest

Hi All,
I have two Staffies crosses, both have a couple of fatty lumps on the chest area, neither of which bother either of them. However one of the lumps on one of them, i noticed has become harder and seems more pronounced. Is this normal for fatty lumps or should i be getting him to the vets?
Many thanks in advance.

Lou

Hi Dizzycow if the lumps are fatty tissue they will most likely be lipoma, these in almost all instances benign and although they are a bit unsightly cause few problems unless they grow so large they restrict movement.

My elderly dog has a number of them, one quite hard the size of a walnut on her back leg and a very large elongated one on her back which makes her look like a hunchback.

If the vet has not seen your dog recently, the growths are new or you are at all concerned it is a good idea to have it checked out.
