If it wasn't the bug blocking his airways etc, he may just of used too much energy up. If your pup does this again you could try a lukewarm water/honey solution syringed into his mouth. It acts like an instant energy boost. Once the pup has perked up after having the solution, then pop him away in his crate for a sleep and to rebuild it's energy up.

I would. It's only hair and it grows back. Just don't go too short or the poor thing will get sunburnt. I used to do mine on grade 3. If your not sure do a higher grade and go lower if need be.

They look cute. This is Gizmo Holly's friend with a short cut. He is of course a Shih Tzu.

I read somewhere, can't remember where sorry, that long coats actually protect some dogs from the heat somehow. I presume it wasn't double coats like newfies etc ..or how it worked. Something to do with reflecting it...I don't know.....about as helpful as a chocolate tea pot.

Hi Could it have been a slug, they secrete something nasty to stop themselves being eaten.Where I was living before (this isnt very pleasant) A toddler who lived next door was sitting on her steps,we were having a chat, then as she
came up to me what she had in her hands a slug it was oozing through her fingers, called her mum,who took her to hospital, they gave her charcoal, but the following day she was fine, except some sores around her mouth, hands and neck,so I think your dog if hewas playing with a toy,the slug could have been on the toy.but Cat is right go see the vet,Gemini54
