Well you learn something every day then Het, coz I didn't realise hazlenuts grew in this Country???

Dunno about the string, you could try it I suppose Let me know coz I need some too, more like a long piece of rope though

Oooh, you are all so lucky. We dont have squirrels round here, in fact the only times I have ever seen squirrels in real life was in Cape Town, and the times I have been to the UK

We have trees everywhere, have a look when you're out on your travels.Then all you need are some nut crackers

(Yep I reckon I would need the rope as well )

Het, here are a couple of quick photos of my adapted feeder and also a VERY bad photo of a squirrel just coming back up after getting a nut yesterday morning (Now you know why I'm desperate for a new digital slr! )

Thanks Ashlady I will look out for something like that, I could put that up on one of the other trees or on a fence post. Going home soon so I will see if they have visited today, count the nuts

I have put some Hazelnuts and walnuts in the feeder so that might tempt them. I bet they wait til I've gone to work and then all pop out and party!
