Hi - i don't know the legal side of it - but surely they would have to assess it first? If its only aggression with NO bite then a behaviourist could work with it. If its been a bite then i think most places will NOT rehome.

Sorry not much help - i hope your friend gets it sorted though.

What kind of aggression are we talking about here? if we are talking about dog aggression, then yes, they will take that dog in for rehoming. Obviously, anyone interested in that dog would be made fully aware of this. However, if we are talking about human aggression, then no, the RSPCA or any other rehoming organization will not take that dog in.

Rehoming a human aggressive dog in such a way would be a HUGE liability. If an incident occurred as the result of them rehoming such a dog through their organization, they would be liable. And as such organizations recieve no funding, they cannot risk the various lawsuits that would entail. Plus, it would be downright irresponsible.

So, it totally depends.

Can you give us more info? Has the dog already bitten? What size or breed? (A breed rescue might be more sympathetic or liekly to take time to work with the dog)

when the lad bought her he was told she was a staff cross. but turns out shes not shes a pit bull. she was playing happily with ben during the week. but apparently shes started to bark alot at ppl if they came to close to her owner. i rang the rspca and they advised him to go to the police, well they are coming 2morow and taking angel off him. to be PTS. if she shows any aggression they have the powers to shoot her. im just so glad it isnt me. i have my collie cross and im happy.

Barking isn't always aggression though. All dogs bark.
