PPI claims

Has anybody put one of these claims in (without the help of a 3rd party company) and been cleared up by the company that miss-sold the PPI or have you had to go to the FOS?

im 9+ weeks into a claim, just logged it with the FOS, and they told me i may have to wait months before i even have a case worker, let alone my money back
