Are Labs stupid ?

Me being me......I thought I'd just come straight to the point and ask the question......................

Are Labradors a bit stupid ?

I'm keen to hear from people that have (or have had) a lab AND another breed which they can obviously use as a comparison.

Star yes,(sorry star) All the others I have had or known. No.

They do seem to have that kind of reputation, but I think that is they choose to play the fool. Next to the other breeds I know they are far the smartest. I will post some of the smarter things they have done(storm in piticular) in the morning.

Edited to add, they use their brains for things such as getting food.

um... yes!!

Well, from my experience the boys are completely stupid, the girls are intelligent and sneaky with their badness!! Chloe can steal from the bins, empty the cupboards, without making a single sound... thats clever

One Storm story,

After we had lamminate flooring Storm had two fall through to it being slippy, 1 quite bad he limped for ages. We were planning on getting a large rug to stop this but before we did we noticed him brinning a couple of blankets down the stairs and laying them on the flooring making it less slippy, he would also line them up to help his jumping to his chair.

I know what you mean, when it comes to stealing food and bin raiding there is no better, stealth at its best.

I think all breeds have a dippy side.If you had meant which breed do I think is smarter than the rest.My experiences with dogs in general, believe it or not I find the mongrels are the smartest by far, they are streets ahead of any pedigree breed.xxxxxxxxxx

I will have to tell that to Jake, maybe he will buck his ideas up as he is as daft as they come.
