Travelling with very young puppies?

If you are travelling more than a couple of hours (been looking at other GSD breeders in the UK), how do you stop to let them pee if they haven't had their jabs yet?

Do puppies travel quite well at a young age?

Both my GSDs came from breeders down South and both travelled really well and without problems. I just stopped a couple of times in quiet locations and let them have a wee (I took a puppy collar and lead with me).

Ahh okay!

You didn't worry about setting them down on the ground?

Just thought I would have a look at some other breeders and I am liking the Kesyra dogs! But they are quite a while away haha

You can carry disease into the puppys environment yourself so while I wouldn't take a pup to areas where lots of dogs go I'd have no problem putting it on the ground in a quiet area.

I'd also perhaps suggest a pack of puppy training pads and a binbag kept in the car so you can replace pads if any accidents occur

I try to tire the pups out before they go to there new homes so they sleep most of the way. Also tell them to bring, water, newspaper, towels and kitchen rolls.
If there crating them tell them to start straight away but if possible let someone sit next to the crate to comfort them.

Thanks guys!

When I got Alfie he went into a crate straight away on a towel, but dad drove me so I sat in the back next to him

I also take baby wipes! lol.

Was just that one of the kennels I am looking at is a long way from me, like 7 and a half hours ish....

Hopefully I can go to the kennels which are only about an hour or so away and then I won't have to worry, but was just in case

Was just unsure how to let them pee if they aren't supposed to be put on the ground

I don't let mine on the ground before they have had their vaccinations .
My last pup travelled about 5 hours . I had towels in the crate and plenty of wipes etc .

My Estrelas came from a breeder five and a half hours away. Rio's journey took about seven hours because of traffic. We had a couple of stops and I let her go on the ground and pee. I think the risk at a service station will be minimal. We were so lucky that our Mal's breeder was only an hour away.
