Buddy - Staffie x

Buddy is a 12 month old staff cross and is currently on foster in Seaford, Sussex.

The Buddy Fact File
Dog status: Good with dogs he is living with, can be bouncy and excited with dogs on walks
Cat status: Unknown
Child status: Good but bouncy, could be rehomed with children aged 8 years plus
House training: Very good
Home alone: Can be left up to 4 hours, has always had canine company in his foster home. Not suitable for full time workers.
Basic training: Knows sit, down, paw. Recall good even with ball.

Buddy is a typical lad, he likes running around with his friends, a kick about in the park, snoozing on the settee at home, and sausages from the BBQ. He is a clever and active dog who would benefit from a home environment where he can be nurtured and trained.

Buddy absolutely adores people and will shower you with kisses and give excited squirmy staffie hellos. He will make an excellent companion for someone and will always be pleased to see you come home. He is good with children but has been living in an adult only foster home and he is an excited lad who is also clumsy and does not know his own strength. For those reasons he has been assessed as suitable to live with children over the age of 10 years.

Buddy has been living with a varied pack of 4 other dogs in his foster home and settled in with them well from the start. He has developed good relationships with those dogs and is not food or toy aggressive.
Out and about in the wider world he gets very excited around other dogs and becomes boisterous and silly. If he gets to the end of his lead he can become frustrated at not being able to play and like many adolescent dogs (and humans ) he does not deal with the feeling of frustration well! If this becomes too overwhelming for him he can bark at other dogs. Buddy will need further training to continue the work started by his foster home and ongoing socialisation. For this reason we would ideally like to find a home with experience of bull breeds or crosses.
Buddy could potentially rehomed with other dogs if careful introductions were made as he has shown the ability to live in a pack already. He could also be rehomed as a single dog.

As said above Buddy adores human copmany but having said that he is quiet and not distressed when he is left alone. He has always had canine company and has not been left for longer than 4 hours by his foster carer. Despite him being good to leave we do not believe he would suit a home where all the adults work full time.

Buddy is a clever dog who already knows basic commands and has good recall. He does need help to stop pulling on the lead.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK.
