Stanley - Mastiff x

Stanley is a 2 year old mastiff cross and is currently on foster in Cwmbran, Gwent.

The Stanley Fact File
Dog status: Very sociable but can be boisterous so care should be taken with small dogs. He would like a home with other dogs.
Cat status: Wikll chase cats and sheep but is showing signs of improvement showing he is trainable. Fine with poultry though.
Child status: Very good and loves the attention. Could be rehomed with children aged 8 years plus
House training: Still needs help and guidance with regular trips outside to relieve himself.
Home alone: Fine to be left for a few hours with canine company.
Basic training: Stanley knows sit, lie, stay and his recall is good. He does listen and is very trainable. He just wants to please you.

Well, what can we say about Stan the man?
He is just a huge lump of love and fun. Stanley is a well socialised and affectionate dog who will make a fantastic addition to his new home. He has a fantastic character is very well behaved when out and about and he is very trainable

Don't be fooled by his large size though. He is very much a big puppy at heart and is he is only just shaping towards adult behaviour patterns. His new family would have to be willing to keep up with his training and realise he is still very much a baby. They would need to be prepared for a few accidents until he was fully house trained and be willing to take him out every few hours to go to the toilet.

Stanley is fantastic with other dogs and would love a new home with canine company. He can be boisterous in his play meaning his companion or companions would need to be robust enough to cope with this. Having said that, he does have excellent canine manners and does back away if a dog has had enough of him. He is currently living with another dog in his foster home and they get along famously.

Stanley adores people and loves nothing more than curling up as small as he can get on your lap on the sofa. He is a very laid back dog who is very good to handle and take to the vets. He is good with dog savvy children but due to his size we would only be able to rehome him with children aged 8 plus as he could easily knock a smaller child over.

Stanley is very intelligent and already knows a lot of basic commands. He is learning to walk nicely on a loose lead as he does pull sometimes.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK.
