Thank you everyone.

It is still alien for him not to be there, but I've had Stella keeping me on my toes and not giving me time to sit and dwell on it.

I have spent a fair bit of time in the wood next to the house, where both Midge and Charlie are resting now, talking them and crying. I couldn't cry in the house, we had quite a housefull over Christmas, and most wouldn't have understood how I felt, they don't view our dogs as 'pets' but even though they are primarily working dogs, they are still my pets, each and every one of them loved a heck of a lot.

It's just going to take time I think, I had so many little routines with him, that no one else would really care about, but they were special to me and I'm going to have to get used to doing them by myself.
