What lovely folk you all are, thank you!

What lovely friends you are, kind words were lovely, thank you all.

The op went OK, but instead of one hour, it was 3 and a quarter. The disc material had ruptured the surface of the sciatic nerve and began to burrow inside it, that explained the sudden spasms, the fact I couldnt feel my leg or foot and the fact I felt paralysed a couple of times. The surgeon said with that progression of damage he doubted me walking in the hospital if I had had to have waited, THAT scared me!

However, its like somebody switched off the pain swith, I cant believe it, I have NO pain, the first time in years, they suck out the stuff that keeps your spine apart and you have no pain, incredible, but I am sooo grateful, I cant tell you what a huge relief it is.

I didnt need any pain relief post op, except on leaving the theatre, as all patients do, apparently I said "Oh Im still here then" when I woke up, then when they gave me an oxygen mask, I said "you can get that off me it stinks!" they said I made them laugh and I dont remember any of it!!

This is the first time I have switched the computer on, and Im allowed 20 mins sitting, so my first 20 skimmed through all the threads, now my second is replying to you. Its made my day to read all the lovely comments, Im extremely grateful, thank you.
Dawn.
