We found a dog (happy ending)

Lots of sad threads on Dogsey lately so I thought Id share with all something that happened on Wednesday.

My uni course have been spending a week in the field this week just outside Chester. There is about 30 of us. We were all on the coach just about to reach the site entrance when we saw what appeared to be fox lying down at the side of the road.

As we got closer the "fox" got up and began to run all over the road, it wasnt a fox, it was a red cocker spaniel!! The site is in the middle of nowhere so the driver stopped the coach to see if the dog was wearing a tag. As soon as we stopped and opened the door the dog jumped on the bus. She was wearing a collar but no tag. She was soaking wet (it was pouring down) so we asked the lecturer not to leave her. He said OK and we could take her down the site and try and find out where to take her (there are some localish people working there).

We got to the edge of the site and she couldnt come with us any further incase she damaged something but the coach driver got some directions to a vet nearby so off he went with her.

All day we worked waiting for an update. Finally it was hometime and we could see the coach driver. He said he was driving toward the village and there was a parked car at the end of the lane looking lost. He pulled over and asked if they had lost a dog and they had!!. It was their dog. She had run off and ran to the site 1.1 miles away.

Happy ending Anyway here she is

Happy ending...but cannot understand why some people do not have an identity tag on their dogs collar!!
I thought/believe it is the law to have one.
