A letter to local paper

I read this in my local paper and was speechless (for a few seconds anyway):

"SIR - I live in XXX and see Staffordshire and pit-bull type dogs out and about on a regular basis, on the cycle paths and in the middle of town on a crowded Saturday.

I have not yet seen one with a muzzle on and I feel that it is only a matter of time before someone (probably a child) gets attacked.

Where are the police? Aren't they supposed to be enforcing muzzle wearing?

I find it ironic that there are more dangerous dogs on XXX's streets than there are policemen!"

What a cowbag. Just because they are staffs and pit-bull types, it doesn't mean they are agressive.

how ironic that the idiot here is the person that wrote it - there will always be numpties like this, however the paper should know better than to print it !!!

in fairness the pit bull types SHOULD be muzzled - but not at all sure the OP would know one if it bit her on the bum (which is unlikely!)

First they came for the pit bulls - but because I didn't have a pit bull (and I couldn't recognise one anyway) I didn't speak out.

Then they came for the Staffies but because I read tabloid newspapers, & they look a bit too much like pitbulls, and make me nervous, I didn't speak out.

Then they came for the Jack Russels - but my old one died last year, so that was OK.

Then they started on cats - good job too cos they poo in my garden all the time.

They had a go at cage birds then, which was a pity cos I'd had that budgie for 10 years... but hey, if that's the new law, then I guess I should comply?

Then they came for my tortoise.
WTF... Tortoises aren't dangerous!!!

I stood up in the street to say so, but nobody would back me up!

That's just terrible.... Doesn't anyone have a conscience these days?

Good grief.... honestly, things like this make me want to inflict pain and misery on this idiot in great quantity.......

Poor staffies..... maligned again

The newspaper should be ashamed of itself.......
