She isn't even thinking about lifting her paw for me...it is as rigid as a rigid thing and she gives me this look...
Now.....
my problem is I am thinking more and more that she may have worn an ecollar in the past. I am also very aware that she does not want to think for herself at all...ever. Clicker training of course is the complete opposite of what she is used to. She does not want to think (and of course may have been discouraged from doing so in the past...)
Soooooooo..........any ideas????? Shall I just persevere with lifting her paw and hope she cottons on?

You should just perservere, as I said in my original post it took Bertie quite a while to figure it out, he had been 'conventionally' trained the 1st 3 years of his life and wasn't really into trying things for himself when I 1st started clicker training, but know he loves training and especially freetime.

I've had lots of time with them today... waiting for the man to service the boiler... so its been nice to have something definite to do.
Chip already gave paws and touched so TBH it wasn't too hard to get a wave.
Now I need to find out where OH's hidden the camera so they can wave to you all.

I said paw.. good... other paw... good, then put the flowerpot in front of him... Pat!.. Paw! He looked confused.. he tried lying down.. no... sit.. good... paw... he offered me his paw... good, Pat ( I touched his paw to the flower pot, he withdrew his paw... looked at me and the flowerpot suspiciously... Paw... he went and laid down on the sofa and wont come down... not for chicken, not for nothing.. all too much.

Try holding the food just above her nose (whilst she is sitting) and then movingit slowly left or right to break her balance a bit, sometimes the foot will come off the floor and you can reward her for that...
Alternatively maybe try luring her into stepping onto something higher up and clicking as the foot comes off the floor. )

She does do an excited front paw dance...I could try and use that somehow...

She took the opportunity to lick my head! I think part of the trouble may be she really likes just being close to you so she isn't particularly focused...of course she has never been trained like this before either bless her.
