Anyone Had Kidney Stones?

Just wondered if anyone has had kidney stones?

How big were the stone(s)? and what treatment were you given?

I ended up in hospital Friday night, was was kept in till Sunday afternoon with my 2nd bout of stones in 2 years . Stone had caused a blockage so I had a op Saturday afternoon to have a stent (plastic rod inserted) into my ureter (tube that runs between kidneys and badder). Toilet has now become my second home and I think I have enough drugs to open up a pharmacy!

Only day 2/7 and I'm bored, can't walk very far due to pain and been bed bound during all this hot weather!!!

Yes I have and I thought I was going to die (seriously). It was about 20years ago. I was given a whole bagful of tablets to help break up the stones. It took three days before I could pass even the smallest of stones. Not had them since. Knowing just how painful it is I feel for you. Hope you make a quick recovery.

Yes me, last Autumn.

I collapsed in a pile of vomit in the ladies at work, not very edifying.

I had to have intravenous morphine for the pain.

I passed it in hospital (we assume) I now make sure that I drink HUGE amounts of water, limit my coffee consumption as well as that of other things.

Mind you, I did go back to work that afternoon but I never want to experience pain like that again.

FAR worse than labour, comminuted fracture of my right tibia and spinal fracture!

Isn't apple juice meant to help? As it's high in malic acid. Hope you get well soon.
