Youngest beginning to jump at riding.... canter poles today (pic heavy)

Today saw my youngest getting to know the pony she is going to learn to jump on.She has had a couple of lessons to get used to the jump position and today saw her doing some canter poles. Next week she is going to do her first proper jump.The pony is a 14hh Black Mare called Brooke.

She is an addict Shona.....shame we can't afford her own or even more lessons. She can't waiti to be old enough to go and work at the stables to pay for some more lessons. She does manage a private lesson each week though and she has come on so far in the last six months...

she sounds like me when I was younger, thats how I did it, mucking out for lessons lol

then I got lucky at 14 and got a pony.

Gosh Fudgeley - how old is your daughter? She looks teeny up there What fabulous photos. She looks a real horsewoman, and so natural. Just lovely! The mare looks very like the mare I rode at the weekend albeit mine was a little taller.

She is just 10 but only wears an age 7-8 as she is so tiny!

Wow what a good little rider she is. Nice to see a youngster who is not hanging onto the reins for balance.
Have a look round for a horse share for her. That could be a lot cheaper than you think and give her loads of riding every week. There are always people advertising for sharers for thier horses and ponies, or even a loan.

She looks tiny but very composed...... bless her!
