Threatened To "Club Her To Death!"

I just could not believe it whilst out on our walk today!

A labrador came running over to Max whilst he was playing with his ball, and in no uncertain terms, Max told her to go away The man who owned the labrador apologised to me for his dog running up to Max. I told him not to worry, and that he just got a bit defensive around his ball sometimes. I took his ball off of him, and after about a minute, he began 'talking' to the labrador quite happily.

I got chatting to the guy, he was asking about Max and how old he was etc. Then he told me how Meg (the labrador) had been his friends, and his friend had been taken ill and was unable to look after her anymore.

We were chatting for about five minutes, when a JRT came charging over to Max and Meg, growling and snapping away. The pair of them just ignored the JRT and began to wander away, when the JRT nipped the back of Meg's leg, at which point she turned around and snapped back.

The owner of the JRT came running over with a golf club in his hand, shouting "get your vicious beast away from my dog or I'll club her to death!!!" between us we basically told him that if he touched either of the dogs, we'd quite happily wrap the golf club around his head!

I just could not believe it! Shows the mentality of some people poor Meg was only defending herself!

Unbelievable, why are some people like this? Good for you and Meg's owner for standing up to this idiot. Nice that Max has made a new friend on his walk today though!
