Hi!
Hi. My husband and I have two adorable 1.5 year old dogs that we call our long legged weanie dogs. They are half daschund and half miniature pinscher. Love them to peices. Both of their parents are AKC, but the people we got them from THOUGHT that they would start a kennel for an easy way to make money. They learned that it wasn't quite that easy. They are not the most responsible breeders, and don't separate their dogs, which came up with some cute mixes, but also could have come up with some strange little dogs because when you cross breeds who knows what happens? Anyway, Raina came to live with us first, and we doted on her, but we also saw how much her coat shined and how much her health improved over the time that we had her. There were two left from her litter, and one went to live with a coworker of mine, and we decided that we would take in the last as well because we felt we could offer her a happy home and better health. We had also read that doxies like to have a companion pooch. So now we have Ginger and Raina. The first thing they did was tear up our kitchen floor. This never happened before Ginger came to stay. But oh my...Raina was determined to show herself the dominant dog over Ginger because she was here first--and apparently that had something to do with my linoleum. Because of this, we had to start kenneling them when they are not under surveilance. They also had doggie beds..Raina would not share with Ginger, so when we got Ginger her own, Raina would go between them so Ginger would know they still weren't hers. Raina apparently means Queen, and Raina took that seriously. Finally they started to share, and now they don't like to be apart. Unfortunately, they also were both nearly potty trained, but now have decided that they are not...We don't know why. They also love their blankets, but they prefer them to look like swiss cheese...maybe chewing them makes them truly theirs. I don't know. Anyway, that's me and my girls in a nutshell!
