Desktop PC Probs

Looking for a little advice,
To cut a long story short we brought a refurb desktop and having probs with it,took it back last week and again it's back this week.

We keep getting loads of error messages ranging from the Anti virus set up to Microsoft help and support centre, infact I had written them down and we had 4 pages of error's.

It kept shutting itself down, when you shut it down it failed to close or did and then restarted again.Had problems with both I.E8 and bt yahoo browser's,so downloaded firefox, had problems with that it kept crashing,so tried to download google chrome and it refused to let me,infact any downloads except firefox it refused.

Anyway explained this to the guy and said we wanted a refund,he explained he wanted to take a look at it first,we said fine as long as it's working properly we will have it back if not and we have to return for a third time in as many weeks we want a refund.

So it's currently been looked at,anyway the guy mentioned that BT Yahoo Browser and ie 8 are incompatible on the same PC,have any of you guys had any probs running the two on the same PC ?

PC is running on Windows XP.

But, but, but Windows is easier to use than Linux...

Seriously, even with Winblows you shouldn't be getting so many probs. The refurb guy either needs to get it set up properly for you or give you a refund.
