How nice it would be if it worked!

At last, I've moved to join the broadband revolution! Moved to join, but not actually joined.

That's because it doesn't work.

I should have realised that this would happen as soon as I saw that the packaging said it was easy.

Installed the software, whereupon it said "Go wireless now?"
"OK" says I. This laptop (a Mac iBook) has a built-in Airport wireless card, according to its on-board preferences.

However, the AOL broadband software is trying to tell me that it isn't there.

I am getting sodding fed-up with things that don't work.

I think I'll cancel the whole deal and try finding an ISP that does do what it says on the tin.

Does the AOL software allow you to set the router's security setting to use WPA ?

I believe the default is WEP-128 bit, but the iBook prefers to use WPA. If you can, change it to WPA and see if you can connect.

Also have you gone into device manager to make sure the wireless card is install?

Just click on it and see if you have got a yellow question mark next to it.

If you have then just right click and install it.
