Im also looking forward to the Aintree Hurdle with Binocular and Peddlers cross. I love to go and watch national hunt racing, but flat racing is just the epitome of the Thoroughbred for me. I have friends that work for top flat trainers, so get plenty of useless tips!!!

One horse already dead, on the first day! a life taken for the enjoyment of others - so unfair!

We have this debate every year, there is risk in any sport, would there be any purpose to the horses if it wasn't for races like the national, and i'm sure that more die in other jump races, should we ban all jump races, what would happen to the horses, after all this is what they're bred to do

What's wrong with just going for a ride in the countryside? A bit like walking your horse?

I would love to do that.

Re sport - humans can make their own decisions by weighing up the risks, animals cannot.

I know there are going to be posts about the two horses that we could see that died and I would like to say that it is incredibly sad.

At least one horse died. Poor thing. What a waste of a life.
