I have a dog tag with my details on my house/car keys. I hope that if I lost them some kind soul would return them, rather than steal my car (fortunately an old banger so not much appeal there) or rob my house.

Husband's friend lost his keys out walking the dog, whoever picked them up must have followed him home and later used them to nick his car.

I've only lost mine once - dropped them down a rabbit hole, cue two hours of retracing steps to find them again - and remembering not to put them in the pocket of the fleece with dodgy pockets.

I tend to stick my keys on a lanyard which can then go around my neck, or I use a belt clip like this which my keys can attach to, keys will still fit in my pocket so a they don't jangle but it means they are still attached to me.
