We're flooded again!

Some may remember this thread from last year - Playing in the lake

Well the bourn has come back up and we are once again flooded.

Myself and a colleague decided to take the Labradors out to the dog run for a play in the water

We taught them to sail

And we managed to get their help with moving the agility equipment to higher ground!

It's a good thing we did to because the dog run now looks like this!

The whole of the area behind Scooby is now under water -

Our big field has a river and a lake -

And our next biggest field is also under water -

Last year it stayed this way until the end of May and we had to cancel 3 barnsales which we normally hold every month and normally raise £1500ish on the day. We also had no chance to rest the fields for the livestock so we were putting hay out until late in the year when we shouldn't have needed to.

At least we are prepared this year unlike last year where we did not know what to expect. We have only just started putting hay out for the livestock so it won't cost too much more to be putting it out in spring. If the rain ever stops our one remaining field which we use for dog walking will be able to be used for car parking so the barnsales will get back up and running. We are also very lucky that none of our buildings are affected as the are all on higher ground, all we need to do is move a few goat huts up the hill and relocate them.

Yep, I'm right at the top of the hill. Although I do have a slippery journey to work every morning trying to cross the fields!

Oh dear Jen. Think this is the same river that affects Jenny too isn't it?

When will it ever end this year?

Oh that looks awful. I do hope you are safe and your house hasn't been affected!

Hope the rain has stopped now and gets a chance to dry out.

Horrid weather!
