Just as I did not think any worse of my parent's staffie for killing a cat, neither would I think badly of my dogs if they killed a cat. I hope they never do, and of course I would do everything I could to prevent them from killing a cat, but at the end of the day, if next door's moggie comes into my garden to kill the birds, which it does, and my dog catches it, IMO this is just nature. Cats kill millions of song birds every year in the UK alone, without many people raising an eyebrow. I see no difference in a dog killing a cat, it is an unfortunate thing which can occur and a dog should not be condemned for it.

The dog you quote is obviously a well balanced dog like mine - he knows that inside the house, the cat is part of the pack, and has to be tolerated, but outside is fair game.
Hmm - he doesnt live in the house, only gets in sometimes

Well ours dont chase in or out & i would say they are fairly well balanced

Guess its just something we can agree to differ on

Thankfully roads are not a danger to our kittens I am pleased to hear you let your birds out - theyre such individual characters in their own right

No, I'm not saying that because your dogs don't chase, inside or out, they are not well balanced! Gosh, you do put words in people's mouth Velvetboxers!! I am saying that my dogs, DESPITE being not particularly obedient or well behaved, are nonetheless well-balanced, trustworthy dogs, well socialised with other dogs and humans, and very well balanced.

So don't lets agree to differ, let's agree to agree!!
