Prong Collar Training Videos

I'm also on a forum where a trainer recommended a prong collar as a management thing instead of harnesses and halties which had all failed so I thought I would post this because it has videos of the whole sequence, I suppose no matter what we write we cannot get a good idea until we see it.

I am very impressed it's improved the owners and dogs quality of life in mins a thousand fold the dog and to me thats what counts. Maybe the difference with this trainer was that he videod the whole thing before the prong collar, the first few minuets on it and three days, after here they are

Prong collar vides, before and after, I would use one if I had any difficulty, I think a few on the site use them after seeing the videos.

I could do the same thing by using positive training - it would take longer than a few minutes though. But then, I wouldn`t have to inflict pain on an animal to do it.

I've had a look.
My first question is why wasn't the dog allowed off lead exercise? Why was it kept onlead in the park?

Second, why wouldn't treats work with the dog???? Its a lab...enough said I think.

My comment on seeing the whole sequence is that the handler obviously lacks confidence and training skills and could have achieved the same results with reward based methods. whilst having a dog that CHOSE to do as she asked rather than being forced. The about turns etc could all have worked without the see of a prong collar, what I see is an owner who has gained confidence in handling her dog, she didn't need a prong collar to do that, just a decent trainer.

There is nothing wrong with that Lab, it is not "Damaged" as someone keeps refering to it!!!!!! It needs the correct training that is all, and to me that is not done by some "Quick Fix" Outdated Training device. 14 month Labradors usually are bouncy and loopy, haven't met one yet that isn't

Just watched the video of the dog on a harness. The owner has it on a remarkably short lead and so the dog can't really do anything but pull surely?
She needs someone to train her in loose lead walking techniques thats all.

Lot of old tosh...that's me being polite and restrained by the way.

This has really peed me off No decent trainer would call a dog "Damaged"

Sad to think there are people still using these methods.
I can't understand why the dog was never off lead ???? or on a much longer line so it could run, so it will get pully and frustrated.

Sorry, but have seen this trainer before, and I am afraid he does not live on the same planet as the rest of us,

He will use prong/e,collars for all aspect so of training.

Anyone who watches that video that has a modicum of sense will be able to tell the owner has absolutely no connection with her dog...

Have not looked at vidoes, but is the one there he uses the e.collar on the same dog... to get it to walk to heel??

Yes i think she did have to much difficulty with the dog responding to positive training and had to keep it on lead because it had no reliable recal if there were any distractions so she could not let it off, either way it improved the quality of life for both of them, those harnesses are geat I know I used one but ive known people where they made no differnce and this was one of them.

Couldn`t watch all the clips but he seemed to be afirm believer in pack mentality, hence the headers next to the clips. the comments made about the dog being emoptionally damaged sue to positive training seemed to be his justification to dominate and inflict pain.

I could have my kids at my beck and call through teaching them to fear me....I can also achieve the same result through positive relationships and respect.

tosh and drivvle....
