Very Sad
That's actually quite a good question Suze.
Im gonna approach it from your point of view/logic, as you quite fairly state no one is doing so.
So im gonna see it from your point now, and we will se that your argument can actually be used for the banning of B.C's.

1) Staffies can never be trusted and have an aggression instinct, so, as a breed, should be added to the banned list on the DDA
2) The pictures we can see of the Staffies being good with children dont make a difference to point 1).

Now, if we *do* recall that you said your BC isnt safe around kids, and your earlier point that BC's have their own breed specific aggression trait, shoudnt we now, by applying your own logic, be arguing the case for adding to B.C.'s to the list of banned dangerous dogs?

These posts could go on and on and on.Someone will find sbt this sbt that because they make good news and sell papers. There are hundreds of people bitten by other breeds and these stories go untold because they don't make dramatic news.
Again because you were shown your breed can be just as lethal in the wrong hands what do you go and do throw it back in their face.

you have completely twisted my words - i said i would never trust my dog or any dog in a room alone with a kid - get your facts right before you make a comment like that

if you want to refer to the bc go ahead - but dont you ever make a comment like that about my dogs without even getting your facts right

so lay off my dogs and get back on topic

talk about ethe bc/s feel free - but leave mine alone

This may go slightly of topic but it's in general to prove a point. You get these eejits who buy sbt's,pitts,Rotts etc,etc for the wrong reasons and the dogs go bad.The same can also be said about peeps who buy bc's for the wrong reasons. Some buy them because they think they can handle them and before they know it they too have a bad dog because they have bitten off more than they can chew, xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I asked a question,still hasn't been answered yet

You've stated you wouldn't leave a dog in a room alone with kids, fair point I don't think any of us would. But would you let your dogs get as close as mine did in the pics with children?

Correct, you did indeed say you would never trust your dog or any dog to be alone in a room with a child. You are very wise. I, for one, couldnt agree more.
However, my previous post never referred to this point.
It referred to your other point about the banning of specific breeds.
But you are right, I shouldnt refer to anyone's personal dog on here.
(Although, I never referred to anything *I* said about your dogs, I referred to things *you* said about your dogs). Boobah just pointed out you are talking about peoples beloved pets on here too.
So it is good to see that you and I now both see the error in our ways, as its not nice to be made to feel like your own dog is under attack.

However, I digress.
Allow me to re-phrase my question.
When i worked in the rescue for 10 years we had several highly strung and highly aggressive B.C.'s.
The thing with B.C.'s is they have a 'special type of bite' that causes a special type of damage, most unlike other breeds.
They herd you and then pin you into the corner and then hit with with as series of "shredding bites" in a matter of seconds thoughout your body. You can see an example in action on the link in a post above.
My colleague had to go to A & E and then have several weeks of plastic surgery to her hand at a specialist hospital in London.
However, I have several photos in my collection of collies being friendly around kids and people in general.

But I think you are right. Im gonna apply your logic, and conclude my photos make no difference, as these "particular" types of B.'C.'s aggressive incidents shouldn't be tolerated, it's obviously in their nature, they can never be trusted, and they should definitely be added to the banned list.

no - because people dont see this as a major problem

the idiots who own them are those who think they are cute n cuddly - they dont see the hyper dog that needs working - it dosent make the media as much as staffys and pitbulls do

even the 2 rotties that attacked the baby a while ago - i dont think they shoudl be banned1. the kid was on its own ina room with a breed of dog - 2. its not the breedlike collies that are always in the media

if collies were always in the media for attacking kids, adults, dogs etc - then they should be banned (yes i ave 2!) but they are not and imo they wont ever be as they are not as a major issue as other breeds
