Average price for puppy training and obedience classes? (threads merged@ post 26)

Hi all

When our new pup arrives ONLY 2 MORE WEEKS TO GO!!!! we would like to take him to some puppy classes (when he is old enough)

What is the average price of puppy classes in your area?

Just wondered if what i am being quoted is an average price as they seem quite expensive to me, I know i am in London which probably has alot to do with it but would be interested to know what other area's charge.

We paid £35 for four lessons, but the classes were excellent and small.
My son is about to start classes with Cosmo though that are only £1...bargain. APDT trainer too...

£55 for 6 weeks. Run by APDT trainer and qualified behaviourist. Classes then go down in price for susequent courses booked and dog enrolled from the same family.

Erm... we don't have any 'puppy' classes in Sheffield except the ones I'm preparing for. The basic obedience classes range - I know one class that is £50 for 6 weeks basic obedience.

When I start my puppy classes (under 16 weeks at the start) they will most likely be £60 for 10 weeks.

The one i'm taking gizmo to is £3.00 per lesson or £2.00 if you pay the £10 annual membership. It's actually a good class most of the time though can be a bit frustrating at others, lol. Classes are an hour long. It varies on how many are in the class to how many instructors. Max for one class is 10 dogs though. Mind you the one i went to on tues night there was only 3 of us so it was good doing some intense training in company.

You see the difference when its in London?!!!

One place quoted me £96 plus VAT which brought it up to £112 and that was only for 6 sessions

I have found another one though, run by Rob Alleyne £70 for a nine week course, that sounds MUCH better!

They are not just for puppies either they are for dogs of all ages. May give them a try!
