We don't throw sticks for ours.....saw one dog who was brought into the vets where I worked where the stick had gone through the chest after it fell on it, not a pretty sight and very lucky it survived.

I would never dream of throwing a stick for mine either as I've heard to many horror stories too.

I'm another who wouldn't throw a stick - but don't need anyone to tell me not to - its common sense surely? Sticks can splinter and break and hurt my dog. I don't want that.

Its surprising how many people do still throw sticks though I see at least one person a day doing it and it makes me cringe.

Very very common just ask any vet and it can often be fatal.

I cringe everytime I see a dog with a stick, or playing with a tiny ball that could easily lodge in their throat.
