two sad tales..........
morning all,
just been on the english springer rescue web-site and saw these 2 little muttlies in the wanting homes sections. made me cry, especially sally's story
why do some people have dogs, or any pets for that matter if they are not prepared to look after them? it makes me soooo mad
, just wish there was more that could be done to protect our dogs....
SALLY
Sally is a very special young lady who will be coming to us from Southern Ireland in about 2 weeks time. She is presently with a Rescue in Ireland and is coming to us at their request because she is vulnerable following appalling treatment then abandonment. Sally was found tethered and starving by a lake miles from anywhere. It is pure good luck that she was found because it was a very secluded area. This poor little dog was deliberately fastened up and left to die. She was initially very nervous but is gaining confidence and is in good physical shape. She is more or less house trained and is fine with children, other dogs and cats. Sally is we guess about 18 months old and is Liver and White. She is looking for an experienced understanding home possibly with the company of another dog to help her confidence. We have no photo as yet.
HOLLY
Holly is a lovely friendly 6 year old Liver and White Springer who has spent her entire life living in a kennel and run. She has had so little attention from her owners that she doesn’t even know her name. We haven’t been able to get a lot of information but we do know that there are four children and she has been fine with them and also that the owners used to have a cat which Holly was ok with. She is only walked once a week if she is lucky and is said to pull on the lead but have reasonable recall. We know she is ok with other dogs but have no idea what she would be like with livestock so it is safest to assume she is not used to them. Holly has missed out on an awful lot of life experience and will need some time to settle into a new home but like all of her kind she craves attention so with a bit of time and patience she will be ok.
